716 Live Community Connect with Kiesha Lillian with Special guests

On the rise to becoming an up and coming artist,
a choreographer, a producer, owner, an all around
entrepreneur? Then this is definitely the article you
want to check out our interview with local business owners and their impact on the 716
community, I had the pleasure of getting to know my special guests and learn how
they have made it to be where they are in life. I wanted to get insight on how they
plan to keep being examples for our youth.

D.J. king shad who is a local artist as well D.J. in the 716 shines some light on his
successful career here in Buffalo N.Y. D.J. king shad describes himself as “the
person of the arts” he is definitely no rookie to the industry. King shad told us his
passion is to do whatever god wants him to do. King shad also tells us that in part
of your success it is important to pave a way for the generation coming up. “it is
essential to make sure you don’t forget where you come from, who you are , and
don’t forget the people that helped you get there” says the legendary D.J. King shad.

The well known D.J. has no shame letting the world know he is a loveable
person and he is not afraid to show his love for Christ.
Another entrepreneur I had the pleasure of interviewing is Business owner,
landlord, and husband Markus Bennett. Markus is the owner and operator of Bennett
home inspections. He is also a landlord to multiple properties here in the 716.
Markus expresses the importance of giving back to his community, I asked him
how? Markus says through his very own black owned business Bennett inspections
which provide African Americans the advantage to stop being over priced by white
companies. Markus dropped some knowledge explaining the advantages white
people have over us in many aspects in life, which is what motivated to create a
black inspection company our homes our homes and livelihoods matter too.

Our last guest I had the honor of interviewing is no stranger, Gary threat is
black owned business owner of a well known podcast “husky heroes of
entertainment” Gary explains his passion for his business and his devotion to his
new lifestyle living in Christ…Gary wants people to know it is okay to love what
you love while also pursuing a life in Christ. Gary started his business during the
pandemic, what pushed him to pursue his own business was the fact that he wants
to make it clear that as black people we can be interested in other things and still be
who you are.

As we wrap things up Bennet gives us more jewels for business owners “study your
competition and find the angle that’s good for you” I asked Markus to get more in
depth what is competition to you? He explains competition doesn’t always have to
mean negative. “in a piece of pie everybody wants a slice ,but I want my slice”
says Bennett.
Each entrepreneur wants you to know you don’t have to downplay the next
business owner to move forward in life. These men have made it sure that are and
will remain successful at whatever they do in life and the main message is to keep
god in all your endeavors. I believe these entrepreneurs have just paved the way for
more of the youth to want to successful too.
