Talia Talks – Mexico City Foodie Review

Here in WNY we take dining seriously. I mean very seriously and we all respect that. Undertaking a review of a restaurant is brave. For me, as very serious “food based” person (I literally tell people that so I can be food always oriented in conversation without confusion) Again me, as a food-based person, look for an experience. It’s not just the food, its everything. That I consider when I pose the question “Do I Want to Come Back?”

In this case yes, and I want to bring my son which out of my rating system that I am composed now gives MEXICO CITY IN HAMBURG a TOP RANK.

It’s the experience, its everything it’s amazing from the outside in. We were driving down the street and I turned and saw a hot pink building with HUGE posters of Latino singers and a tractor, and I said “this must be it”. Obviously, esthetics are important, but first things first when you get to the door there’s the smoothie menu (amazing indicator) good things happen inside. You open the door, and you hear the best Spanish music. And then it begins- we were greeted by a hostess who was so lovely and sweet. UM SEATING IS the CUTEST, everything about the inside of the restaurant is staged for photos. Literally a flower wall and a hot neon sign that says, “Buffalo Bills and Tacos”. That’s enough for you to want to go, I’m sure.

So, I am a little spoiled and we ate everything. Like literally everything and the smoothies were in containers like as big as bowls, they were decorated with Mexican Candy which is one of the features of the restaurant. The everything was good, the chips are home made the salsa is homemade, the environment is wonderful. Huge screen TV to watch the Bills. I mean may I continue to describe to you one version of heaven for me. The tacos were amazing, like I mean we had the Mexican hotdog, the corn was in the colors of the Mexican flag, I mean beautiful food worthy a selfie of itself. The churros made me so happy they were very good and you can tell they were made with love. I had a mango smoothie, I had a juice, pina colada, at some point I was like also wearing a huge sombrero which is really more about me and my affinity for the dramatic than the food. But know, they are available for photos! There’s a Buffalo Biills themed Christmas tree, there are momentous and toys, and pieces of the culture the owner loves and is sharing with the community to buy! I mean tacos and shopping is it for me, but I understand people crave other things. I am not sure why but Pointedly good food, very good food, great service, and outstanding experience.

So what am I saying. I am saying when you go there tell them I sent you?! They will know! And know- There, kids can learn about Mexican culture through candy and current music and culture. They can learn a little about the people that make the amazing food they are going to eat and not have it feel like a lesson. And in that way show appreciation and maybe be encouraged to expand their own food horizons. Overall, here in WNY we take dining seriously and I mean seriously. And Im giving Mexico City 5 out of 5 for Tacos, Mexican Candy, A Pina Colada that I’m going back for and, everything from the door to the décor.
