Unleash Your Greatness: Saundra Adams’ 1-on-1 with Duncan Kirkwood
An initiative launched by a community leader is kicking off to help young Black boys in
Buffalo.
Motivational speaker, author, veteran, speaker, trainer, and global resilience advocate,
Duncan Kirkwood, is working to lead our youth to the greatness that they can achieve
through perseverance, self-awareness, dedication, and hard work.
His mission,” is to make sure everyone who he comes across can become the most
resilient and best version of themselves.”
To do just that, his organization Fostering Greatness has partnered with the
Independent Health Foundation, along with others, to launch a year-long initiative for 50
boys that will offer them a three-day resilience and leadership training at Beaver Hollow.
And more plans are in the works following the first launch to the grow the program
beyond just young but to also offer the same access for young ladies in Buffalo.
The training will be an intense boot camp style program that will introduce leadership,
soft skills, and resilience training, that will be held from August 5 through the 8.
Throughout the year, these 50 young men will take part in various community service
projects, community youth programs, college tours, and micro-grant opportunities. So, if
you’re in need of some volunteers, don’t hesitate to reach out to Mr. Kirkwood.
Also, these young men, will be trained strongly in advocacy as well as Dr. King’s 6 steps
of nonviolent direct action so they can begin to create positive change in their
neighborhoods.
Recruitment is underway, so parents and gradians register while you still can or get a
jump start on the next training launch.
