Rick James & The Endocannabinoid System

Well, it turns out Rick James was right! Marijuana isn’t so bad after all. Why isn’t this taught in the school books? Contrary to what we have been told, it is actually good for us. In fact, there is a whole system in our bodies dedicated to it! But don’t take my word for it. Here is a quote from Wikipedia:

“The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a group of endogenous cannabinoid receptors located in the mammalian brain and throughout the central and peripheral nervous systems, consisting of neuromodulatory lipids and their receptors. Known as “the body’s own cannabinoid system”,[1] the ECS is involved in a variety of physiological processes including appetite, pain-sensation, mood, and memory, and in mediating the psychoactive effects of cannabis.”


Basically, this system plays crucial a role in: memory, appetite, energy, stress, immunity, female reproduction, and more! Here is a diagram of how it works:
