Carly Gilbert chats with Jasmine

Jasmine Reed The Author: What made you want to become an entrepreneur?

Carly Gilbert: I’ve been singing since I was a kid so I guess it’s what I’ve wanted to do my whole life. It’s also a way of expressing myself and letting people listen to my thoughts.

Jasmine Reed The Author: Where do you get your clothes?

Carly Gilbert:  I shop in many different stores, like i.am.gia,thelabelbrandy melvilleBershkaH&MO-MIGHTY, etc.

Jasmine Reed The Author: What does success mean to you?

Carly Gilbert: Success can have many different meanings, but if you ask me I think success comes when you are able to share your story, your style and your personality with your followers and being followed/liked for being yourself. I also consider being successful helping your followers in any possible way, maybe encouraging them to do what they love, to dress how they love, to be whoever they wanna be and to do whatever they wanna do. I just want my followers to know that it’s ok to be you.

Jasmine Reed The Author: Any tips for anyone trying to grow their social media following?

Carly Gilbert: Interact a lot with your followers and also try to be consistent when it comes to posting, but don’t post too much or it will bother people. I usually post once a day or once every 2-3 days. But most importantly, only post stuff that you’re 100% happy with. Don’t post just because you have to!

Jasmine Reed The Author: What are your plans for the future?

Carly Gilbert: I’m currently working on my first EP as a solo singer. I’m from Spain but have been in LA for 2 months working on my EP. The release date is still a big question mark but I can assure it is going to be really soon! I’m also starting to work on my own clothing brand. It’s going to have kind of a vintage style but kind of hip hop. Don’t really know how to describe it honestly but I think my followers are going to like it! It’s 100% my everyday style.
